What is barter

What is barter?  Barter is the exchange of goods or services for other goods or services without using money.  The site banner you see on this blog is a perfect example of bartering.  Our friend Barry, who owns Webfinity Design, built the banner in exchange for us linking to his site on this blog which we’re doing in this article. Wikipedia explains barter as the following:

Barter is a method of exchange by which goods or services are directly exchanged for other goods or services without using a medium of exchange, such as money.[1] It is usually bilateral, but may be multilateral, and usually exists parallel to monetary systems in most developed countries, though to a very limited extent. Barter usually replaces money as the method of exchange in times of monetary crisis, when the currency is unstable and devalued by hyperinflation.

Anything you say CAN and WILL be used against you…

“Anything you say CAN and WILL be used against you in a court of law!”  That statement (Miranda Warning) is something we ALL need to be aware of when dealing with law enforcement.  Yes, you may truly be 100% innocent and not in the least bit involved in any type of crime, but if you begin to speak to law enforcement you may possibly incriminate yourself without even knowing it.  Don’t be afraid to assert your 5th amendment rights and REMAIN SILENT!

A lot of states have what is known as “stop-and-identify” and/or “Obstruction” statues, so please educate yourself on your state law to know when you’re required, by law, to identify yourself to law enforcement.

To protect and to serve..a complete fallacy.

We often hear the words “To protect and to serve” whenever we hear anyone speaking about the role of police officers.  Unfortunately, those words are a complete fallacy.  Not only is that notion a fallacy, but the supreme court has ruled that the police have no legal duty to protect individuals and stated the responsibility of police as follows:

“Police do not have a duty to protect you as an individual, but to protect society as a whole.”

Firearms are not evil!

As a very active person for the advancement and education of gun rights in the United States and more specifically in Pennsylvania, I’m usually up against the baseless facts that the anti-gun organizations such as: The Brady Campaign, CeaseFire, Mayors Against Illegal Guns & Moms Against Illegal Guns spew out.  I say these facts are baseless because they’re usually facts for criminals, not law abiding citizens.   In fact, there are more deaths as a result of car accidents and by medical mistakes than by firearms, but this is something they don’t want you to know about.
